In understanding the pressure and stress in searching for a therapist, I can ease those stressors in providing the appropriate interventions needed in order to best fit your needs. I can be an outlet of security, trust, validation, support, and safety to guide and challenge you to explore thoughts, emotions, and reactions.
My experience has been working with victims of severe trauma, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, psychosis, addiction/sobriety, eating disorders, and many in between. I have run groups in Partial Hospitalization Programs, Outpatient Programs, and Transitional Outpatient Programs as well as seen patients within these programs, individually.
I also offer LPC/LCSW supervision as a separate entity for those planning to work/are working in the field and need a licensed therapist to give them weekly supervision hours.
Nicole Garrison
Research shows at least 1 in 5 people struggle with an anxiety disorder. Helping someone with anxiety or OCD has become a true passion of mine- or the “bread and butter” of my therapy skill set.
I am a state licensed professional counselor drawn towards helping children and adults to be the best version of themselves. I primarily use a short term, problem solving approach also known as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but often use a “neapolitan” combination approach in working with people to tailor to their each individual needs. I’ve had extensive training in EX/RP (Exposure Response Prevention) as well as ACT to treat a variety of anxiety disorders including OCD and I specialize in working primarily with anxiety disorders as well as OCD and trauma.
I also am receiving continuing training at the University of Pennsylvania to become certified in Prolonged Exposure (PE), to help treat PTSD. While my passion is treating a variety of anxiety disorders, I also have had training in ecosystemic structural family therapy which helps examine behavioral patterns in the home within families and couples. Lastly, I currently supervise those working towards state licensure. Don’t hesitate to send me an email/voicemail with any questions I can help answer before an initial session!

Relationships are the basis in which we experience life. Relationships can serve as our greatest strength as well as our greatest stressors. When conflict is present in relationships this can often lead to anxiety and deeply affect our mental well-being. This includes the individual’s relationship with self. As a therapist I work to help clients identify their strengths and identify their values. This strengthens quality of life as well as self-worth for clients.
I specialize in treating trauma, OCD, anxiety, and depression. I have years of experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and domestic violence. I have worked with adolescents who are experiencing severe depression, self-harm, and suicide ideation.
It can be difficult to reach out when looking for a therapist. Every person deserves a safe place where they are able to confront the stressors that each of us experience daily. I strive to create a calm and relaxing environment by utilizing humor and mindfulness, and empathy. I utilize an online platform in order to be more accessible to those in need.

Helping people through giving them a safe space to be themselves has always been a passion of mine, and it is now something I get to do every day with my clients. I consider it a great honor to sit with you through various vulnerable moments in your life, and appreciate the courage it takes to seek help. I received my dual master’s in Counseling and Mental Health Services and Professional Counseling from The University of Pennsylvania and I am currently a resident working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked as a therapist in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient therapy. I specialize in the treatment of OCD and Anxiety by employing the evidenced based treatment approaches of Exposure and Response Prevention and Cognitive Restructuring. Along with practicing and building interpersonal relationship skills, coping skills, and positive psychology towards one’s self, I have found these approaches to help clients live a more balanced life outside of the mental distress they may be experiencing.
I believe the therapeutic relationship and rapport are essential to effective care and I am committed to keeping therapy client-centered. I recognize that each person has strengths and abilities that make them unique as well as gives them the power to make their way through life’s challenges. When it comes down to it, I view my role as a therapist as someone who can help people find their inner strength to achieve their goals.
